Course Overview

Nahw refers to the science that governs sentence structure, word endings, and the relationship between words in a sentence. It is one of the core sciences of the Arabic language and a foundation for understanding the Qur’an, Hadith, and classical Arabic texts.

This course introduces students to the concept of declinable words —words in Arabic whose endings change according to grammatical position. Understanding declension (i‘rāb) is crucial for reading and interpreting Arabic texts correctly, especially the Qur’an. This course lays the groundwork for accurate sentence comprehension and proper recitation.
